IPS e.max Press Abutment Solutions

Implant restorations and press ceramics

Schaan, Liechtenstein – March 21, 2011

Implant-retained hybrid restorations can now be produced in the press technology – thanks to IPS e.max Press Abutment Solutions from Ivoclar Vivadent. Two different solutions involving lithium disilicate glass-ceramics in conjunction with a titanium base are available to users.

The IPS e.max Press MO ingot is used in the fabrication of highly esthetic customized hybrid abutments, particularly in the anterior region. Due to the lifelike appearance of the IPS e.max Press MO ingots, a tooth-coloured transition to the root can be achieved. As a result, highly esthetic restorations are obtained, even in cases where the gingiva has receded. The crown to be placed on the abutment is fabricated from IPS e.max Press  material and then adhesively luted to the abutment by means of Multilink Implant.

A 2-in-1 solution
The IPS e.max Press LT ingot is suitable for the fabrication of one-piece, screw-retained hybrid abutment crowns for the posterior area. This type of restoration represents a user-friendly and efficient 2-in-1 solution: The crown is pressed to full contour, luted to the titanium base with Multilink Implant and screwed into place – in one piece – in the oral cavity. The screw access channel is sealed with composite material. Thus, access to the screw is ensured at any time.
